Moving our bodies

Today we went to the hall to do a variety of Gross Motor activities to develop co- ordination and other skills to help develop pathways in our brains.
Rachel showed us the activities and then we started moving- we had such fun.
Here are a few photos of what we did.

Diwali

Today we read a book about Diwali and we learnt about the festival.
Later, we asked Yash and Dev to come and tell us what they did for Diwali.
Yash enjoyed the fireworks and how they exploded into the air.
Dev loved the pillow he received as a present.

Welcome to Room 19s Blog

What a fantastic start we have all had to Term 4.

Our topic this term is 'Bee Power" and to kick off our wonderful topic we had a fun day, where we learnt about bees all day!!
During this day we even had honey on toast, which we all thought was really YUM!!!!

Here's some pictures of some us enjoying our toast.

During Week 2 we had a visit with a beekeeper, Oliver McCurdy.

He talked to us about his bees and even brought around 50,000 bees in, so we could see how busy bees really are!!! He showed us his smoker, which he uses to calm the bees when he needs to go into the hive. He also brought in big chunks of beeswax, which he saves after scraping off the frames when he retrieves the honey.
Oliver was wearing his protective gear and he put up his hood to show how he protects his face from the bees.
